NBL Round 8 Predictions & Tips: The Basketball Fix Tips

The boys here at The Basketball Fix give you their best NBL round 8 predictions for each and every game sharing their NBL tips. Are tailing or fading the lads?

Brisbane Bullets vs Melbourne United at Brisbane Entertainment Centre

With the Brisbane Bullets fresh off of a win against the Cairns Taipans, they will look to bring that form into this particular game against Melbourne United after their poor loss to the Breakers. United will come into this game as the team to beat and with their great defence which ranks as the league's best they will hold the Brisbane Bullets to under 82 points, a number the Bullets have scored less than twice this season already.

Jack White is a player in this game that will have a major say on the outcome. His scoring and rebounding have been the strongest aspects of his game this season. With Harrison and Bannan inside for the Bullets, we can expect White to become a little more of a playmaker. White has recorded 2 or more assists in 2 of his past 4 games and this will happen in this game.

BF Tips: Brisbane Bullets Under 82 Points In The Game & Jack White 2+ Assists

Perth Wildcats vs Tasmania JackJumpers at RAC Arena

In a NBL24 Semi Final rematch, both teams will look to use this game as a way to bounce back after both coming off of disappointing losses in their previous games. The Perth Wildcats have been a solid home team with a record of 3-2 and will look to add another win to that total. The Tasmanian JackJumpers on the other side of the stick have been horrible on the road with a record of 1-5 this season with an average losing margin of 13.9 points. The Wildcats will look to leverage their home crowd advantage and get themselves back into the winners column.

With the uncertainty of Bryce Cotton's injury, the Wildcats will once again look to their youth to get them across the line. Elijah Pepper has been a player who has been in good form since Cotton went down. He has had 11 and 17 points in their past two games and will look to build on that in this game.

BF Tip: Perth Wildcats To Win By 5+ Points & Elijah Pepper For 15+ Points

Sydney Kings vs South East Melbourne Phoenix at Qudos Bank Arena

South East Melbourne Phoenix surprisingly have been one of the hottest teams in the NBL and have a chance to take down the Sydney Kings in Sydney. The Phoenix have won 4 of their past 5 games and with the up and down Kings struggling with injury, the Phoenix will look to capitalise and continue their hot form. Under new head coach Josh King, the Phoenix have shown their defensive structures have improved rapidly and this will make this matchup interesting. I'm confident with all things considered that the Phoenix will walk away as the winner in this matchup.

Cam Oliver has been a player who has finally hit some good form for the Sydney Kings as he has gotten his chance. He has walked away with two double doubles in his past two game and will look to build on his season in this game against Jordan Hunter and Matt Hurt. His strengths are his ability to score inside and out and crash the boards with his strength and size, this is something that will challenge both of the Phoenix's bigs.

BF Tips: South East Melbourne Phoenix To Win & Cam Oliver Double Double

Tasmania JackJumpers vs New Zealand Breakers at MyState Bank Arena

In what is the hottest team coming up against the coldest team, this game has all the makings of another blow out. The Breakers who have been the league's best offensive team will come into this game ready to take over early and set the tone. The Breakers have won their past 2 first quarters and with the JackJumpers allowing plenty of points and not showing much resistance, the Breakers will once again win the first quarter.

Sam Mennenga is a player who is going to have a favourable matchup with Will Magney out of the Tasmanian JackJumpers lineup. His most recent game against Melbourne United where he had 25 points scoring inside and out showed the league what he is capable of. Whilst he hasn't had the best start to the season, he has finally found some confidence and will build on that in this game.

BF Tips: New Zealand Breakers First Quarter Winners & Sam Mennenga For 15+ Points

Melbourne United vs Perth Wildcats at John Cain Arena

With the rematch of one of the biggest losses in Perth Wildcat history, Melbourne United will once again look to walk away winners in front of their home crowd. These two teams have had some of the best games in NBL history over the last couple of seasons but it has been United who has walked away with 3 wins in their past 4 matchups. United’s ability to not only score but defend will make life hard for the Wildcats and will ultimately be the deciding factor.

With the Over/Under market in the NBL being so favoured to the Under this NBL season so far and these teams following that trend, this will be another case of that. With United's ability to defend and Perth’s streaky scoring this game will fall in the Under category and will add another loss to the bookies pockets and a win for the punters.

BF Tips: Melbourne United To Win & Game Total Under

South East Melbourne Phoenix vs Cairns Taipans at John Cain Arena

With the Phoenix heading back home to face the Cairns Taipans, it will be another game for Josh King to apply his smart thinking and turn it into another win. The Taipans have been killed with injuries and the Phoenix are finding themselves on the right side of results in recent weeks. King will look to keep his men in the right headspace and add another win to the board.

The key player in this matchup is a player who probably isn't front of mind and that is Malique Lewis. Lewis who in recent weeks has established himself in the rotation has become a player who is doing everything. The statistic and area that is most appealing for this game will be the rebounding department. Lewis who has had 6 rebounds in 3 of his past 5 games and with the injuries to the Taipans big men, Lewis will attack the glass with conviction and get over that total once again.

BF Tips: South East Melbourne Phoenix To Win & Malique Lewis 6+ Rebounds

Adelaide 36ers vs Illawarra Hawks at Adelaide Entertainment Centre

With the home team 36ers looking to extend their home win streak to ten wins this week against the Illawarra Hawks, this game shapes up to be the game of the round. Both coming off of disappointing losses which you can nearly forget about, they both come into this game ready and raring to go. With this game at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, this will give the 36ers the advantage and will get them over the line in this one.

The key matchup will be how does the Illawarra Hawks big men stop the 36ers three headed monster of Montrezl Harrell, Jarell Martin and Isaac Humphries. With their physicality, strength and scoring abilities, look for Harrell to have 20+ points once again and add over 10 rebounds. This will be one of those Harrell games where you see pure class and dominance from the start of the game.

BF Tips: Adelaide To Win & Montrezl Harrell For 20+ Points & 10+ Rebounds
