Brisbane Bullets Stand Tall in Adelaide to Keep Finals Hopes Alive
With their season hanging by a thread, the Brisbane Bullets delivered a statement performance on the road, securing a crucial win over the Adelaide 36ers. Facing adversity and questions about their depth, the Bullets proved they had the resilience to rise to the occasion, led once again by MVP candidate Casey Prather.
However, it wasn’t just Prather who stepped up, it was the supporting cast that made the real difference. Isaac White was a standout off the bench, finishing with 13 points, four assists, and two steals, while also recording a +6 in plus-minus. His impact was especially felt on the defensive end, where he embraced the challenge of guarding one of the league’s top players in Kendric Davis, playing a huge role in Davis having one of his worst shooting nights of the season, converting at just 31% from the field in the game.
White, who found himself matched up against Davis in the crucial moments after Mitch Norton exited the game late in the third quarter, relished the opportunity. Speaking in the post-game press conference, he highlighted his commitment to improving on the defensive end.
“One part of my game that I really want to continue to develop is my defence,” White said “I got to match up on Kendric (Davis) tonight, and I loved every moment of it. I want more of that”.
Head coach Justin Schueller was thrilled with the collective effort from his squad, particularly acknowledging Tohi Smith-Milner, who delivered a huge double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds.
Playoff Race Still Alive
With just a few games remaining in the NBL25 season, the Bullets remain on the fringe of the top six, keeping their playoff hopes alive. However, they face another must-win clash next, turning their attention to a high-stakes showdown against the Cairns Taipans.
With injuries piling up and the odds stacked against them, Brisbane’s path to the postseason won’t be easy. But if this gritty performance in Adelaide proved anything, it’s that the Bullets aren’t ready to back down just yet.
